The Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the United States Department of State launched the Global UGrad program in 2010. The United States Education Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) administers this program in Pakistan, while the International Research and Exchange Board (IREX) manages it in the United States. In a short time, it gained popularity in Pakistan. In the first batch (2010-11), the program selected 100 students from across the country.
This program offers undergraduate Pakistani students enrolled at a university the opportunity to have a one-semester cultural/academic exchange through a non-degree program in the US.
